Installation

Supported hardware

Eydos publishes packages for x86-64 and arm64 and runs on:

• 64-bit Intel and AMD laptops and desktops (x86-64).
• Phones: Liberux NEXX, Purism Librem 5, PINE64 PinePhone (support in progress).
• Single-board computers: Radxa ROCK 5B, Orange Pi 5B, Thundercomm RUBIK Pi 3.

Installing on a laptop or desktop

Installing on a Debian system

Eydos is a set of Debian packages. On a Debian 13 system with the Eydos repository configured, the whole desktop is one package away:

sudo apt install eydos-desktop

The meta-package pulls in the compositor, the shell, the notification daemon, the desktop portal backend, the greeter and the default theme.
